CAMDEN, ME, March 7th, 2024 – Press Release – Bay View Collection, a small group of distinctive, luxury boutique hotels in Camden and Rockport,, Maine whose properties include the Lord Camden Inn, Grand Harbor Inn, 16 Bay View, and the all new Rockport Harbor Hotel, is proud to announce that Emmett Acosta, a Guest Services Associate at 16 Bay View, has earned his Hospitality Management Certificate from Cornell University through their eCornell Online Program sponsored by the New England Inns & Resorts Association.

Emmett is a graduate of Camden Hills Regional High School and started attending the Maine Maritime Academy for his freshman year before catching the hospitality bug. Emmett then began working for 250 Maine Hotel in Rockland and then the Camden Harbour Inn before joining the Bay View Collection in early 2023. Emmett has a passion for sailing and art and has even dabbled in the culinary world as a line cook.

If you ask any of Emmett’s co-workers or managers, they’d say he has the heart of hospitality and always leads with kindness and generosity. In a relatively short amount of time, Emmett has demonstrated a great talent for hospitality and providing our guests with amazing experiences.

Emmett completed the 3-month, 6-course program and received his certificate in Hospitality Management through e-Cornell, Cornell University’s online certificate program. This program covers a wide range of content, from building a loyal guest base to finances to team building, giving students a set of skills needed to be successful in a hospitality management role. “I am very proud of Emmett’s hospitality pursuits and ambitions. He has been a great asset to our organization and has developed great trust and respect among his fellow co-workers and is often complimented by our guests for his kind and caring nature. We are very lucky to have Emmett and will continue to support and encourage his educational pursuits”, says Matthew Levin, Director of Hotels for the Bay View Collection.

Erick Anderson, General Manager of our Camden properties, added "I am thrilled to watch Emmett grow his hospitality career with the completion of this Management Program. He has a strong desire for this industry, and I look forward to watching him implementing these new skills and continuing his learning path as he seeks a Hospitality 360 degree with eCornell."
