Young grand marshals recognized during 2022 Lobster Fest Parade

It’s all in the wave...and maybe the smile, the candy, the morning sunshine, and a certain Spidey outfit.

Hundreds of people lined Main and North Main streets for the 2022 Lobster Festival Parade, Aug. 6, soaking up the free entertainment – for those whose children didn’t con them into buying souvenirs.

This year’s honor of Grand Marshal was bestowed to local youth state champions from Oceanside High School, Camden Hills Regional High School and Medomak Valley High School. However, multiple younger audience members who’d been in a good spot after the parade may have chosen Spider Man, who was stopped numerous times for photo ops as he and Snow White attempted to catch up with the floats. Spider Man was a very good sport and stopped and posed every time.

Leading the hour-long parade was Police Chief Tim Carroll, and interspersed throughout the floats were fire trucks from Rockland, Warren, Waldoboro, and Thomaston. Other police officers and fire department volunteers assisted by blocking traffic at major roads, allowing for a less stressful experience for pedestrians.
