Linda L. Strout, obituary

SOUTH THOMASTON — Linda L. Strout, 75, of South Thomaston, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Maine Medical Center after suffering a stroke a few weeks prior.

Born in Rockland, July 11, 1946, she was the daughter of George G. and Gloria (Goodale) Dyer. She was a graduate of Rockland District High School, class of 1964.

Linda spent her working years as a first responder for South Thomaston Ambulance Service and a home care provider. In her later years she worked for Walmart before retirement.

Linda was larger than life with a vivacious personality that left a lasting impression on all that knew and loved her. Linda loved helping others and was a very active member of the community. Linda had attended the Crossroads Church of the Nazarene in Rockland.

Predeceased by her father and mother, her husband Fred Strout and her son Charles Godfrey; Linda is survived by her son James Godfrey and his wife Cindy; her granddaughter Alexandria Godfrey; her great-grandson Carter James; and her brother Lewis E. Dyer and family as well as many extended family members.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held Sunday, May 15, 2022, at 3 p.m., at the Crossroads Church of the Nazarene, 50 Camden Street, Rockland, Maine.

In lieu of flowers donations be made in Linda’s name to Pope Memorial Humane Society, P.O Box 1294 Rockland, Maine 04841.
